Anyone who prepares or assists in preparing federal tax returns for compensation must have a valid 2019 PTIN before preparing returns.

Verify your information by providing your personal information (name, mailing address)
Business information (name, mailing address of the company you will work for)
Explanation for felony convictions
Explanations for problems with your individual or business tax obligation

3. Felony convictions and discrepancies with your federal tax obligations may affect your ability to obtain a PTIN.
4. You have until December 31 to apply for your PTIN.
